Bowling/converting the ten pin(right-handed)
Expert: Russ King - 9/29/2006
QuestionWhere do I stand, using the 3-6-9 spare system.
And what arrow or board, do I aim at to convert.
Answer To make the 10 pin spare as easy as possable you need several things.
1.A "Spare Ball"
Plastic(polyester)
Needs to go as straight as possable.
2. Accuracy
Hitting what you aim at
3. SIMPLICITY!
3-6-9 works best for spares in the middle of the lane.
For a 10 spare you cross the oil track area out to the
virgin dry found outside eirst arrow.
4. TRY THIS
Stand in the middle of the lane(3rd arrow lefty without
spare ball).Imagin you tie a string to the 10 pin.
While standing behind the middle of the approach
With the ball in your hand ready to walk up onto the
approach, pull the string into you.Picture the line the string makes right into the 10 pin.Step up on the approach right into the line the string makes. Your toes, shoulders, eyes, knees, arm, ball ect. should be facing the 10.This means the 10 is NOT to the right of you anymore,it's right infront of you!Your armswing should start the pushaway right on line with the string.Every motion will be right on line & followthru will be right at the 10.DO NOT cut the follow thru short! You need to stretch thru it all the way to keep it on line.
Save time by counting spares not boards.3-6-9 does NOT work on many conditions.Keep it simple, straight and along the string line.
TRY IT & LET ME KNOW IF YOU HAVE ANY QUESTIONS.
