-----Question-----
hey, me and my friends have first started to bowl , and i have been trying to curve the ball for a little bit. Anyhow, i was taught to use only my 2 middle fingers, and at least have had some success curving it. The only problem is that i have no idea if this is the right or wrong way to curve a ball. So i guess my question is, how do I learn to curve the ball on my own without professional help. Thanks!

If you are going to start curving a bowling ball you are going to need to get one drilled with a fingertip grip. What this means is that you get a ball drilled so that only the part above your first knuckle (on both your ring and middle finger) is stuck into the bowling ball (and all of your thumb - of course). A good ball to get for this (for a beginner) would be the Columbia 300 Scout Reactive. Let me know if you have any other questions.
AnswerThe biggest thing is practice practice practice. But, with that aside, you should read Bowling Execution by John Jowdy and then read Focused for Bowling (a great book to better your mental game). I could try and give you a few pointers, but since you are just starting I would recommend that you get those books. Let me know what you think.
