Bowling/custom coloring

Question
Dear Mr. Aki,
Can you advise me on the best way to get a custom ball of moderate reactivity, in other words not plastic, but with the nice coloring of, say, a brunswick viz-a-ball.  I dislike the swirl patterns found on 99% of standard balls and would rather have something like a basketball, or checkered pattern, etc.
Thanks for the help.

Answer
I am not fond of the multicolor stuff either, but there isnt much choice now.  You can get a few solid reactive balls, but at this time, there is not anything with the look you are hoping for.  All of the really  cool looking stuff is plastic or polyester.

Ebonite made one ball called the Optyx Formula One a few years ago.  It was clear with a blue core with a silver chekcered flag stripe in it.  I have a 16# one of those still here, undrilled.

Sorry I dont have any good answers for you.
