Question
alright russ i tried the baseball technique and am able to do that fairly easily butthat is only with a baseball. when it comes to bowling it seems as if the rotation i can get on my ball is diagonal or topsping basically. any ideas on how to fix this problem?

Answer
GOOD! THIS IS THE KIND OF STUFF I NEED TO KNOW. When certain problems come up from certain corrections, I can tell close enough what you are doing.
NEXT LESSON.
As you stand there on the approach, try pointing your hips to the right(for right handers)forcing them for the first few times. It will feel messy! But, it will bring your shoulder up & forward to a square position to the target.
And while pointing your hips to the right, keep your arm swing in close to your body.
CAUSE OF TOPPING/DIAGONAL,
OPEN HIPS POINTING AWAY FROM THE SHOT CREATES LOOSE ARMSWING. You have to with your arm, push the ball way to the right & wanting to lift creates topping since the ball is way out away from your body. This is the only way to get the ball to the right when your body faces left.
 NOW,
If your body does not want to do this or to get greater correction, put your empty bowling bag up on the approach about 15 boards to the left(right handers)of where you are standing . The bag should be to the left on your second to the last step before your release around 3-5 feet from the foul line.As you start your approach, your subconscious will see the bag & tell your body to miss it creating a straight approach killing the fade left away from the shot.Your first few steps will try to fade left. But, your subconscious will teach you to miss the bag. Now, for every 3 times you miss the bag, pull it in closer to your step line around 2-3 boards from 15 to around 13-12 to the left.REMEMBER TO TUCK IN ALL BAG STRAPS & ZIP UP ZIPPERS SO YOU DO NOT TRIP UP IN THEM. YOU WILL ONLY KICK OR SIDE SWIPE THE BAG WHEN YOU BUMP INTO IT.Write down where you put the bag so when you move it you know where it was to continue lesson.
I used this method to straighten out my 10 board fade for cranking to a 2 board fade to stroke the ball from outside first arrow to go down & in.
DO NOT WORRY ABOUT WHERE THE BALL GOES OR HOW IT HITS.THE PRACTICE IS TO CORRECT YOU PROBLEM RIGHT NOW! KEEPING SCORE ON A OPEN PLAY SHOT WON'T HELP YOU ANYWAY.(IT IS WAY TOO EASY.).
You will be lost for a few games until your body figures out what is going on.A gradual correction is better than a ONE STEP FIX ALL.IT WILL CURE ! NOT TREAT THE PROBLEM.
OK,
DUE THIS & GET BACK WITH ME TO LET ME KNOW WHAT IT CORRECTED & WHAT DEVELOPED.
