Bowling/drilling bits

Question
Am wondering what type of drill bit is used to drill out bowling balls.  Would a auger or fostner bit work or is there specialized bit; if so could you describe it?

 Thanks, Sto

Answer
With the materials used for manufacturing bowling balls having a greater density now, all drill bits I have ever used are carbide tipped.  The set I have now has two flat edges that come to a point with gooves to help in the removal of material out of the hole.  I would guess they are 3 inches long, not counting the straight shank shaft.
