Bowling/drilling for a lefthander
Expert: Russ King - 12/29/2007
QuestionI just bought a ball on ebay (Pearl Fury) and took it to a guy for drilling. He used Brunswicks drilling instuctions along with using my current ball. But I notice the pin is on the opposite side of my finger holes from what my current Storm is..and the ball does not move at all...no hook...I think he drilled this setup for a righthander and I am a lefty.. Do you have to reverse everything on the instructions when drilling for a lefty..? Please help..
Answer All drilling charts I have come accross has been spected out for right handers. You just use mirror images for lefties. Most charts give this info.
If your pin is on your track side,it is 95% probably drilled badly. You only put the pin on your track if you want the ball to do nothing. This is mainly for heavy crankers throwing too soft a ball for the conditions or for very dry lanes when everything else hooks too much.
DID THE DRILLER KNOW YOU WERE A LEFTIE?????
I HAVE 2 BALLS DRILLED LIKE THIS. THEY ARE FOR VERY DRY LANES.THERE NOT SUPPOSE TO DO MUCH OF ANYTHING. I HAVE THEM FOR CONTROL ON VERY DRY CONDITIONS.THEY WILL NOT DO MUCH OF ANYTHING IN OILY CONDITIONS.MAYBE JUST A STROKING DOWN & IN SHOT.
THE DRILLER OWES YOU A NEW BALL !!!!!ONLY IF YOUR STORM IS DRILLED FOR A LEFTIE.YOU SHOULD HAVE TOLD THE DRILLER YOUR A LEFTIE. OR THEY SHOULD HAVE ASKED.
