Question
when I look a company websites for their bowling ball they all have drill spec sheets. However, not being that experienced with the terms it like trying to read greek in figuring out what the terms mean and how changing the position of PAP, CG, and etc. would have on the ball? I am a high rev bowler that is looking to get a new ball that is designed for medium carrydown with the maximum backend. When I go to a pro shop I want to make sure that i am getting a ball that will perform to these conditions and is drilled properly to perform as desired under the right lane conditions

Answer
I would suggest going to Ebonite.com and clicking on their Tech Center button.  This will take you to a site that lists definitions of technical terms.  This should help a bit.

Taking the definitions and looking at the drill sheets will help understand what changing the layout may accomplish.

Surface is the most important part of ball reaction.  Core design would be next and then layout would be third in order of importance.  The layouts are fine tuning options for the overall reaction of the coverstock and core.

Good luck,
