Bowling/grips

Question
I just recently got back into bowling in a league after 10 years of only bowling 2 or 3 times a year.  Am I wrong to want to go back to a conventional grip from the fingertip I now have?  I seem to have better control with even a house ball than I do eith my own ball.  I used to carry a 180-185 average and now can't get over 162. Should I stay with the fingertip?

Answer
Getting back into the swing of things will be slow after 10 yrs off.The fingertip grip is at least 10 yrs old. All grips should be updated atleast every year. So I think the old grips are way outdated.Throw the house balls for a while. You will know when the time is right when you get board with the house balls. Then you can plug & re-drill one ball to see how it goes.Maybe over the summer after a full season back. The summer will give you a relaxed time with no pressure to work in the fingertip grip.It is up to you. But you will know when to update the grips.

DO NOT BUY A NEW BALL AT THIS TIME OR ANY TIME SOON.YOU HAVE 2 SITTING AROUND TO EXPERIMENT ON FIRST.A QUICK PLUG & RESURFACE JOB WILL GIVE YOU A GOOD AS NEW BALL TO MESS WITH.
