Question
What is the benefit of drilling the fingers with left lateral pitches and how is it done without drilling into the bridge?

Answer
If you are just changing the pitches and not changing the thumb pitch, I doubt you will see any change in the ball reaction.  If you take the pitches you use now, and add 1/4 left to each hole, you should be able to get around the ball easier and lower the ball track.  By adding left to the pitches you use now, you should not drill into the bridge unless what you use now causes  you to drill into the bridge.

Good luck,
