Bowling/new ball

Question
I recently got a carbide plus from lane 1 and was under the impression that this ball was designed to break and hook hard on med to heavy oil. The ball has a 1" pin which I assume is bad from the sigh I got from the proshop worker. I asked him to drill the ball so that it breaks late and hard. The problem is that the ball doesn't seem to break(or move) at all. Bowlers similar in style with me love the ball and it reacts the way that I wanted. Is there anything I can do to get the ball to break or should I get another proshop to look at the ball for me?

Answer
The 1 inch pin makes the ball have less layout options.  I would not say it makes it a bad ball.  What kind of layout did the ball driller use?   Where is the pin, cg, and the extra hole if there is one?  Also, what kind of top weight did the ball have before drilling?
