Bowling/new ball drilling - first ball
Expert: Russ King - 8/29/2007
QuestionHello, I bought my first ball, a hammer black widow, since I liked using my brothers' hammer and thought it was a good choice. I took it to be drilled after ordering it online and the guy at the proshop took my measurements and drilled it, fitting it to my hand, and that was fine. The problem is he didn't ask me my bowling spin-style (although he probably picked up I was fairly new to the sport) and the drilled a balance hole in the side without my approval! I was shocked when I saw it there! Should I be angry or ask for a refund? I feel like I never got the chance to experience how my ball could have really worked for me if I set it up myself. Maybe I would not have needed it. I will say he is regarded as an expert bowler, sometimes on classic ESPN, but still, I kind of feel like he overstepped his bounds. What do you think? Thanks for your advice. - James.
Answer If he didn't ask any questions like, how do you bowl, have you used fingertip grip, what line/area of the lane do you like to play, what type of bowler(stroker, tweener, cranker) and many more, you didn't get your DOLLARS worth & it probably isn't drilled 100% correct for you.I WOULD SAY " HE DID A RUSH JOB"!!! WHAT IS HIS NAME? I MAY KNOW HIM.
IT SOUNDS LIKE HE GAVE YOU LEVERAGE WEIGHT. THIS WEIGHT CREATES EARLY BIG HOOK.NOT GOOD FOR YOUR FIRST BALL.
>> I THINK YOU SHOULD MAKE HIM AT LEAST PAY FOR YOUR BALL TOTAL AMOUNT + SHIPPING + THE COST OF DRILLING & GO SOME WHERE ELSE.<<
