Bowling/My straight ball curves

Question
I always thought I threw a straight ball but it wants to curve left on me most of the time ( I am a right hander)  I have no idea how to correct the problem but I would like to attempt to hook a ball but have no idea on the first step.  Can you help?  Thanks

Answer
You can practice the hand action required by tossing a small football underhanded to another person or on the couch. The hand action that makes it spiral is the same move required to make a bowling ball hook without straining muscles uneccessarily. Your grip pressure should be the same as you would hold a baby bird. If you have trouble holding the ball like this, get your grip checked by a certified professional ball driller. Hope this helps.
