Bowling/top weight

Question
do you need top weight in a balling ,or is it better not to have it, if so what is the best top weight to have ,what does it do to the ball

Answer
The top weight does atleast 2 things.
1. It counters the weight being taken out from drilling the holes.
2. It creates an imballance. This imballance will make a ball do tricks depending where it is placed in the grip.
Place it back to the fingers creating fingerweight. This fingerweight will delay the hook.Closer to the thumb,it makes the ball hook sooner.Side weights also do this.If all the top weight is drilled out to zero,it will just roll & do what the roll tells it.No help from the imballance.

A test for this reaction is , fill a ROUND baloon with air & tie it off. Roll the baloon. It will follow the nipple as it rolls. The nipple would be the weight block (top weight).
HEAVY TOP (MAX 3 OZ.) WILL GO LONG & HOOK HARD.
lIGHT TOP WILL HOOK MELLOW & SOONER.
