Question
Also, how do i know where to stand on the approach and where to throw the ball like the arrows on the lane? Is there an easy  way to adjust to oil conditions like oily or dry lanes?
     Thanks,

Hi i am a bowler in cortland Ohio and i had a few questions. i throw a road hawg bowling ball and I really like it. The problem is im not getting enough revolutions on the ball and its not getting in the pocket. i try different things and i have an average of 170 and its going down and i could really use the help. The only way to increase the revolutions is to be able to have your hand in a stronger position.  This is done by having the wrist cupped at the bottom of the swing and letting the ball roll off of your hand.  If you ever played with a yo-yo, this is the type of motion you need to increase your rev rate.  Watching someone like Sean Rash and Chris Barnes will give you the idea.
The other thing to look at is the surface of your ball.  If  the ball has too much surface, it will hook too soon and may not hook down the lane like you are expecting it to.  You might try polish the ball and see what happens.

Good luck,
Chip

Answer
I think the best way to learn adjustments is to find the part of the lane that hooks and try to play just inside of that.  Hopefully, this will give you some miss room in and outside of your target.
Without knowing the condition where you bowl, I cant give you the proper stance and/or target.  I suggest watching bowlers that are successful and try to play the lanes the way they are.  You may not have to stand on the approach in the same place, but try to get your ball to the same point on the lane that the other bowlers are using.

Good luck,
Chip
