Bowling/Not using ring finger

Question
The ring finger of my bowling hand has developed pain. I want to continue bowling but need advice about drilling the ball using the thumb and and the 2 adjoining fingers instead of the middle and ring finger.

Answer
Although you can throw a ball with the index and middle finger, you will lose some ability to get rotation on the ball.
I would have a good pro shop take a look at your ball to determine what is causing the pain.  There should be some options with spans and or pitches to take the strain off of your ring finger.

Good luck,
