Question
We have bred my male boxer with our neighbors female.
They bred on Saturday night. His penis still is swollen to the point that it will not retract. What can we do to help the swelling so that it will retract.
Unfortunately, there is nothing you can do outside of ice and he wouldn't allow you to do that.
You will have to take him to a vet and the vet can administer a drug that will make the swelling go down and then it will retract.
It is not normal for that to have happened for so many days. Usually they remain hooked up due to the swelling, ensuring the pregnancy, then 10-15 minutes later, the swelling subsides and they loosen.
For this to have gone on for days, is not normal.
Get him to the vet ASAP.
