Question
Just curious, I have a boxer pup that is almost 20 weeks old and 37 pounds.I was wandering if you knew what the average weight was for a boxer puppy around this time.

Answer
At 5 months old, 37 lbs. is acceptable

At 1 year old, the average male will weight from 55-80 lbs. depending on his genetics, and a female average 50lbs+ depending on her genetic tree.

At 37 lbs. this is acceptable as long as ribs are showing, and he/she eats well. If the ribs show, the pup is under weight and should have his thyroid checked. Usually this is done more at the one year mark, but you  can consult with your vet about your concerns if ribs show.

Otherwise, presuming no ribs protrude or show, and pup looks and acts healthy, he probably is on target for his genetic make-up.
