Question
I have a 5 1/2 year old neutered guy. He has always had little health problems here and there and knows the vet very well. He has always had a problem that appears every 6 months or so. It seems like a bladder infection where he has to pee frequently and also very very slow. They doctor has done x rays and other test ruling out blockage. No matter what medicine he takes or doesnt take, it always goes away in 3 days. I work from home and am here all night, so going outside enough is not a problem! He has a revolving door! What are other possiblities with what can be wrong. I have had MANY MANY expensive bills to him and I dont mind going back but I seem to be charged thousands and there is never an answer for whats going on with my little guy!!

Answer
Hi Amanda. Have you had his prostate checked? My best suggestion would be to try to find a vet school, or a larger vet clinic. One that can run some better tests. Has he been checked for a bacterial infection? Let me do some checking into this for you, talk to a good breeder/vet friend of mine. I'll get back to you tonight or in the morning.

I have owned Boxers for twelve years, and have bred them for eight. I also took a vet assistance course just for my dogs. I have shown in dogs shows, just not a lot.

Education/Credentials
I took a two semester course to become a vet assistant. I didn't go further in it because I had a child.
