Question
QUESTION: what does it mean when my puppy was born with a blue eye. none of the other puppies have a single blue eye and i was just concerned so if you could answer my question it would greatly be appreciated.
thank you

ANSWER: Hi Mark. All newborns have blue eyes. In Boxers, they should start to change to a dark brown at about 6 weeks of age. How blue are were talking about here? And how old is the puppy?

QUESTION: It is blue and cloudy.  Is he blind, will it still turn, or is that just the way he is?

Answer
You still didn't say how old the puppy was. :-) They may turn yet, or they may turn brown, just not a dark brown. It's very easy to tell if he's blind. When the dog is sitting still, simply use a finger and move it towards the dog's eyes. If he blinks before you touch it, he's not blind. I'd still take him to the vet to have his eyes looked at just to be safe, especially since you're worried about them. The vet will be able to tell you if he has something going on with his eyes, or if the pup is simply being stubborn about changing his eye color. :-) Good luck, and if I can help with anything else, let me know!

I have owned Boxers for twelve years, and have bred them for eight. I also took a vet assistance course just for my dogs. I have shown in dogs shows, just not a lot.

Education/Credentials
I took a two semester course to become a vet assistant. I didn't go further in it because I had a child.
