Question
morning Jannie - you have been very helpful in the past, I wanted to hear yourthoughts on another question. I have two boxers male and female. male is 2yr 6 months, female is 1 yr old. The male seems to develop a bad smell very quickly. I'll bathe both of them on the same day and a after a couple of days the male stinks to high heaven. Im talking about 4 or 5 days and the female can go a month without another bath and she will smell just like an ordinary dog. Since they are in the same areas, same yard I cant understand why? can you shed some light on this. Do you think maybe the male has a skin condition?

Answer
Body odor is more than likely hormonal.

Unless he has a yeast infection- like in his ears.

Check inside his ears for any scabbing and white flaking material. If there is any white material building in his ears- it is a yeast infection of the ears and can smell badly.

But, even if not, you will need a vet to check him out and get his or her advice on his odor.

There is something going on that causes it. It could be an infection, diabetes, or the like.

Let me know, please.
