Question
I have a 3 yr old male boxer (fawn), and an 8 month fawn female boxer mix. (father is pure boxer, mother don't know for sure). She might be already pregnant. Is it too young for a female to breed, and what are the chances of getting close to pure boxer puppies?

Answer
YES, she is way too young!

She shouldn't be breed until 2 years old.

However, if she is already pregnant...............

There is no such thing as "getting close to pure Boxer" with her being a "mix."

It's genetics, just as a White and an Hispanic, or an African American and an Asian- the offspring will vary according to the strongest genes and previous genetics with both parents.

Since she is a "mix" her other breed's genetic codes can be dominate and have puppies- some of them- that breed- and others more like Boxers.

You cannot tell and won't know until they are born.

It's pot luck-- dad is Boxer, but mom is part Boxer.

What is the "mix" ?

If you think she is pregnant- you might want to take her to your vet for an examination and if possible, or later, depending on how far along she is, they can x-ray to see how many puppies she is carrying.

Remember, gestation is 58-65 days- with 63 days being average gestation (pregnancy) until whelping (having the puppies).
