Question
I wanted to know if using cedar shavings in my dogs house would be harmful for them. i know they sell them for that purpose, but a lot of people say they can get an allergic reaction to it. With the weather getting colder, what can I use to put in their dog house to keep them warm?

thank you

Answer
Hi Andy,
I personally would not use cedar or any type of landscaping materials for my own boxers. The cedar is small enough for them to eat easily and you just really have no idea what might be sprayed on it. If you have boxers they really should be inside as they are not tolerable to extreme temperatures whether hot or cold. They have a single coat layer and this cannot keep them warm even with the best intentions outside in the cold. Thanks for your question.
