Question
recently i noticed that my white 1/12 old boxer has sores under her chin almost like acne, but when i wash her face they bleed. any idea what this is?

Answer
Hi. Dogs can get what's called chin acne. They look like white bumps. You need to keep the area clean and dry, and can even use Strydex. I have an 8 month old Mastiff girl that went through this, and my Boxer boy did as well. You may want to change her bowl to ceramic or metal. After she eats or drinks, dry her face and apply the strydex once a day. I would also take her to the vet for a check up just to be sure that's what it is. If it is chin acne, it will clear up, it may just take a bit. Good luck!

Education/Credentials
I took a two semester course to become a vet assistant. I didn't go further in it because I had a child.
