Question
I have a 3 year old fixed male boxer, Hans, with excessive energy.  I am considering getting him a playmate, a 1 year old fixed female boxer.  Just wondering what your thoughts are on adding a second boxer to our home.  I love Hans, he has such a people like personality and don't want anything to change that.  Do you think adding a playmate would be good for Hans?  I understand all dogs behave differently, but on average do two dogs behave better together or are they twice the energy?

Answer
Boxers are social animals, and if you own 1 Boxer, you should own 2.

Since Hans is fixed, a fixed girl is perfect.

As long as Hans is receptive to other dogs, there should be no problem and they have a harmonious relationship.

Congratulations!
