Boxers/Boxer standing over foot/leg

Question
I have a 4 year old Boxer, rescued when he was 2 years old.  He likes to stand over our feet/legs, when we are sitting down...almost as though he wants our foot to touch his genitalia.  I didn't think much of it until a neighbor, who has an 8 month old Boxer visited and said his dog does the same thing.  What does this behavior mean?  It's not aggressive at all...they just calmly move their way over to you, until they are right over your foot.  Thanks, in advance, for any information you can provide.

Answer
Hi. Boxers can be really needy, wanting to be with their owners at all times. That could be what it is, he could also be wanting a belly rub. If you don't want him to do that, then make him sit when he walks up to you and does this, distract him with toys or treat. Good luck!

I have owned Boxers for twelve years, and have bred them for eight. I also took a vet assistance course just for my dogs. I have shown in dogs shows, just not a lot.

Education/Credentials
I took a two semester course to become a vet assistant. I didn't go further in it because I had a child.
