Question
QUESTION: Hi...our boxer has recently taken up sleeping under my sons bed each night.  In the past, she has slept with us and I am very curious as to why the change.  Any thoughts?

ANSWER: Hi Pamela,
Sounds as though she might be denning, maybe coming into heat or just seeking a cooler place to sleep. Have you noticed any other changes in her habits, like eating or potty habits ? How old is she? Has your son been sick ? I look forward to your reply,

QUESTION: No changes in her behavior...she is 4 and my son has not been sick, but my husband has been.  He has been in and out of the hospital for about 4 weeks.

Answer
Hi Pamela,
Your husband being sick is most likely why the change in her. Dogs are very keen to humans, they instinctively know when we are sick, sad, etc. She is giving your husband his space and a natural reaction. When he's all better you should see her gradually move back to your room at night. Good luck and thank you for your follow up and question.
