Question
We have a boxer mix female dog that is probably about 7 to 8 years old.  We are seeing a difference in your attitude toward our other dog and our two children ages 8 and 9.  She is starting fights with the other dog and has snapped at each of the children a couple of times recently.  She does not look well. What is the average age that this breed will live?

Answer
Hi Crystal,
The boxer breed lives on average 11-14 years old. What you are describing to me sounds as though your boxer mix is having some kind of medical issue and could be in pain. Please have her checked by the vet asap, keep her away from the children and other dog until you get her checked out. When boxers attitudes change like this it is almost always a hidden medical condition. Good luck and thank you for your question.
