Boxers/blood in urine

Question
Hi. I noticed a question you had back in January regarding blood in your 10 year old Boxer's urine.  Did you ever find out what the cause was?  I also have a 10 year old Boxer and she is having blood in her urine too.  The pee starts out normal then turns to bright red blood.  She went to the vet today and was placed on antibiotics but they do not think it is a UTI.

Answer
Just as in people, kidneys are the culprit, such as kidney stones, etc.

Although I can not say what the cause is, I can't believe the vet hasn't tested and diagnosed the problem before prescribing antibiotics.

If you vet did not test, then get a new vet ASAP.

Blood in urine such as you described is serious.

I would get a definitive answer to the cause and treat that cause.

Good luck to you and Boxer girl!
