Question
We have one 11 year old male (fixed) and one 5 year old male (unfixed) and we are looking to get a 10 month old female boxer who is not spaded. Will the younger male try to fight the older male?

Answer
Hi Lauren,
I believe you will be altering the situation greatly by adding the unspayed female. Now the rules change and natural instincts to mate by the younger male will come about when this female comes into heat greatly increasing the chances of male dominance to rear its ugly head.I personally would wait till the older male passes before getting the female, at the age of your older male it is quite to his disadvantage and peace of mind, he's too old to deal with this situation favorably and I personally would let him live out the rest of his days without the possibility of conflict. To be even more honest I'm very surprised you aren't already experiencing some fights with two male boxers since one isn't already neutered. Thank you so much for your question. Have a great weekend !
