Question
I have read and researched the boxer breed for a long time as well as breed standards and have never read anything about breed standard color being black. There are a lot of black boxers in my area(claiming sealed brindle)and I am wondering if this is really a standard boxer color or the product of breeding defective genes.

Answer
There is no such thing as a black Boxer.

There is the fawn, the brindle, and the reverse brindle.

Reverse brindle is near black because the striping on the brindle is predominately black on the fawn color, giving the illusion of a black Boxer, but is not black.
