Question
Have a female boxer that wandered up about 3 weeks ago.  I don't know anything about her except,  she had a litter of pups shortly before showing up,  she was malnourished and had sores all over.  She is better now but I need figure out how old she may be and why she is being aggressive to men all of a sudden.

Hi Angela,

Your vet may be able to tell you the approximate age of this female through a dental exam and physical exam. The aggression is most likely due to her being abused at some point by a man or men. Her prior owner could have been a woman and she now feels secure with you and is trying to protect her new pack(You). Her litter most likely didn't make it which would have been the new pack for her.You would need to have a professional trainer or behaviorist come to your home and work with you and the dog to get a better assessment.  Thanks for taking this female in and good luck with her.
