Question
a friend of mine is moving and can not take his 3 yr old boxer with him. I am thinking of taking him for my son, but the dog is not neutered. I am wondering what kind of dominance issues I might have with that later on down the road??

Answer
Neutering really has no bearing on dominance but prohibits the desire to roam or mount a female dog in your home, let alone, compete with other males.

I have family and friends that haven't neutered their males and they are not dominate- quite the contrary, females are.

As long as he is socialized and well-behaved, and you have the patience to help and teach him, you will be fine with a non-neutered male. I do recommend neutering to decrease any chance of testicular cancer in the future.
