Boxers/No Flagging while in heat

Question
Our Boxer, Laila, is 4 years old. Her eat cycles are very hard to notice. She is now in her most noticeable one. We have a male min pin, that is kept away but is going crazy around her. This time we also notice small drops of blood early(we think). the stud came over on what I believe to be day 10. On that day she let him mount but would sit down, run away, or move. I figured she was still in the first stage and not ready yet. Similar behavior day 11. Days 12 %26 13 the stud tries less, she has even mounted him from behind. I thought I may have miss the window, but then I noticed I never saw her flagging. Ever this time or ever in her life. Question 1 is it common to not see any Flagging? I then brought out the MinPin and he could even walk around the block without staying behind her trying to jump on her. I will test the softness of her vulva in the morning. Also is it okay for her to be at home or should she go to his home?

Answer
Hi Miles,

All dogs are different and most do not flag. Sounds as though you have missed the window, testing the softness of her vulva has absolutely nothing to do with her heat cycle. It is customary for the female to visit the stud on his territory. Most females aren't ready until after the discharge has turned pink not red.
