Question
our boxer has developed a strange mottling of his fur along his ribs, on both the left and right sides.  he is a fawncolor, 6 year old boxer, but the color we are worried about appears to be under the skin, darker than his fawn color. it appears to follow the rib cage

Answer
I would like to see a picture. You can add to this question and attach a picture.

I do know that Boxers have dark patches, freckles, spots, and the like, on their skin, hidden under the coat. If he is loosing some of his coat, you might be seeing those.

The question is; why is he loosing hair, and are the darker areas normal?

So, please attach a picture of the area (not too close up) for me to see.

I will respond.
