Question

Annie and Mort
I have to boxers. One 3 year old female and one 2 year old male.  for the past few months they have been throwing there food back up after eating.  It comes back up whole like they aren't even digesting it. It doesn't smell sour or have anything else with it.
They do it a couple of times a week each.  I also have a 6 month old Australian Shepherd that doesn't throw up at all.  What do I need to do to help my boxers keep their food down?

Answer
Hi Tyrissa,

It could be food intolerance or allergies. it is imperative to have your vet check them out as there are other possibilities. Check out this article for more information http://www.hitowerboxers.com/foodallergiesinboxerdogs.htm , you may also try feeding them separately to encourage them to eat slower, eating slower will also help them from inhaling large amounts of air into the stomach, adding a large baseball to their food dishes or changing to stainless steel bowls, even trying elevated ones may also help this.
Trying a more holistic brand of dog food may be of interest and the names of these foods can also be found on my website. Avoiding foods that have corn, soy, diary and beef in them is usually helpful for the boxer breed as these are some of the most common ingredients boxers are intolerable of. Thank you for your question.
