Boxers/Adding another boxer to the family

Question
We currently have two adult boxers, one neutered male, one spayed female.  The male has just turned 6 years old and the female will be 7 years old next month.  We have recently moved into the country and have acreage for the dogs and would like to add a new boxer puppy to the family.  We also have 3 children between the ages of 2 and 8 that get along great with the dogs.  Both adults have good temperments but the female seems to have the best overall tempermant.  The female is much more energetic/hpyer than the male.  I'm curious as to whether we would have a better chance of all 3 getting along well if we added another maale or female.  Thanks for your time.

Answer
If the female has or has not had a litter before, she will possible become a surrogate mother to a puppy. The male will just play with a puppy.

A female puppy would be better because a male will challenge the alpha position with your male latter when matured.

Remember to show your Boxers as much attention and love as you will the new puppy so there won't be any jealousy issues.
