Boxers/Neutering a boxer pup

Question
Hi,
We have a 9 month old male boxer, and are wondering when the best time to have him neutered is? We were debating breeding him but have decided not to but want to make sure we dont neuter him too early, as we've heard that waiting till he's done all of his growing height-wise is the best way. He's 24 inches at his withers so i'm pretty sure he's almost done growing in height (if this is even a reason to wait).
I just want to understand the pros and cons of neutering earlier rather than later....as I understand some pups are neutered at 4-6 months even.

Thanks!
L.

Answer
Every vet has their personal recommendation on neutering ages.

Some vets will neuter as early as 4-5 months old, and others 10-12 months old.

It would be safe to say, at the age of 9 months old, is a good compromise.

I wouldn't wait any longer- I believe the earlier the better before maturity.

It does not stunt their growth- that is a myth.
