Question
hi.i drove 8 hours to breed my dog,and 3 weeks later she started filling out more plus eating more,as ive got 6 kids shes the softest dog there is but unfortunately 4 weeks after she bit a woman in the face that was bent over stroking her tummy.i was devastated.luckily the woman didnt take it any further.we were so excited at the thought of them coming but then we took her to the vets just to be sure.shes been sick a few times & im certainly not saying the vets wrong but she done a scan for 30 seconds & said she wasnt?her teets are still very large & all she wants is cuddled, shewould of been due in a few days but she hasnt put much more weight on?could the vet of been wrong?cheers, sharon xx

Answer
Hi Sharon,

The vet could be wrong but it is highly unlikely. It isn't uncommon for females to have what is called false pregnancy, that is the female thinks she is so acts accordingly and has her teets swell and begins making a den for her puppies. Canines can miscarry and reabsorb the puppies. Thank you for your question.
