Question
I was trying to find help on my skinny boxer and came by a answer you had for someone who could not afford a vet. I am in a side where I do have a vet paid over $3000 in medical for my boxer and still cant help him. He is so skinny his hips show. He has had every test at the vet and cant figure it out. he spent three days in the hospital for test and I would have to go in to take him potty. He has and open food bowl and can eat what ever he wants I have bought different food the vet thought maybe he does not like what we have. he runs on 14 acres and has free play space. Do you have any suggestions. he is so skinny. Like unhealthy. Our vet told us to prep for he to pass (he does have a heart murmur) she didn't think we was going to live threw the three day hospital visit. Do you have any suggestion? ( he does have all of his shot, been deworm and had the thyroid test.)

Answer
If your vet said he has a hear murmur and has been hospitalized and all possible tests run; I couldn't begin to second guess the vet.

If he eats well with a good appetite, and the vet tested for thyroid disorder and it was negative (he has no thyroid disorder), then it is a metabolism problem. That or he has an underlying problem causing the weight loss that the vet has not checked.

I cannot begin to suggest with knowing what the vet tested for.
