Question
how old is to old to breed my female boxer  and when i do breed  her how long does she need to be with the male  so i can tell the owner of the male boxer .

Answer
Hi Marcy,

Most boxer breeders do not breed past the age of five. The best days to breed her are between day 11 and 14 of the heat cycle. You only need them to tie once not multiple times,so you may not need the male to stay or her stay with the male. Multiple breedings are not necessary. I have a male that will take care of business in about thirty minutes to one hour then the female is ready to leave. It is best to take her to the male's home where he will feel more secure. The male will take care of business if she is ready or try within a few minutes of the meeting. The male is the best judge if she is ready or not. If he doesn't try then the female is not ready or you have missed the window of time in which she would have conceived. Hope this helps and thank you for your question.
