Question
how much should my 3 1/2 month boxer weigh? i saw a 4 month that weigh much more than mine. and in 6 months how much should he weigh. thank you.

Answer
Hi! I really don't go by weight. If your puppy looks good, has a nice shiny coat, clear eyes, plenty of energy, and is filled out, not skinny, then he's just fine for her age. The reason I say this is because Boxer puppies grow at different rates. That dog you saw may be smaller than your dog in a couple of months. There are so many different lines in Boxers, and they all grow differently. Some faster than other, some slower. Some Boxers are also just naturally thin. They'll never be filled out. Also, a puppy will get kind of skinny looking when he hits a growth spurt. One day your boy will look great, the next he may look like he's never fed. Your puppy is the best indicator on his health and if he's growing properly. The next best indicator is your vet. If your vet thinks he's in good shape, then don't worry about him. He'll catch up to the rest in his own good time. Good luck! (P.S. I'm sorry I didn't get to your question sooner. The site had a glitch, and I never even received your question until this morning when the site sent a reminder e-mail about your question.)

Experience

I have owned Boxers for twelve years, and have bred them for eight. I also took a vet assistance course just for my dogs. I have shown in dogs shows, just not a lot.

Education/Credentials
I took a two semester course to become a vet assistant. I didn't go further in it because I had a child.
