Boxing/1 rebound speed bag

Question
Hi,

Do people hit the speed bag with it only having 1 rebound?

I was sure I saw it on TV, but perhaps not. But I have since tried to do it, and it is very very hard (maybe impossible!?) but I have got it going at a fair speed and can keep it going for about 20 seconds... not long I know.

My friend says that no one does it, and I am out to prove him wrong. ... or am I wrong !?

Cheers,

Sam.

Answer
Hi Sam

you asked: "Do people hit the speed bag with it only having 1 rebound?"

Yes, many do.  It is normally called a "Front Fist Roll" ( when done continuously from the front with both fists, And a "Reverse Fist Roll" when done from the back.

Doing this with just one fist is quite a bit harder, and I call it advanced front punching. It is awkward with one hand and I have only seen a few people do it proficiently.

So, Both of you look at the videos on this site and you be the judge about what can be done....
