Question
Hey Lian, sorry i didn't give enough info in my last question.  This is what i originally meant; how do i become a ringside judge for the pros in the state of New York.

Answer
Hi Vinny,
Thanks for the clarification.
The process for becoming a professional boxing official can vary from state to state, so you'll want to contact the New York State Athletic Commission directly.
Here's the contact information:

New York State Department of State
New York State Athletic Commission
123 William Street, 20th Floor
New York, NY 10038  E-mail: athletic@dos.state.ny.us
Telephone: (212) 417-5700
Fax: (212) 417-4987

The website didn't have applications or a description of the licensing process, so you'll probably have to either email or talk to a real live person at the number listed above.

I hope this helps, Vinny!
Thanks again for writing.

Regards,
Lian

I can answer questions regarding rules for both pro and amateur boxing; upcoming bouts; fight analysis/predictions; various other questions. I am an experienced amateur boxing official with USA Boxing (14 years) and I have completed a yearlong professional officials` clinic with the California State Athletic Commission.
