Question
If I register with USA Boxing could I compete in fights without a trainer in my corner?  I would have my father there who knows a little about boxing but does he need to be certified? Also I have been having trouble looking for fights.  The internet actually couldn't help me with this one so if you know of any way I can get info on fights around northern Illinois it would be greatly appreciated.  Looking forward to hearing back from you.

Answer
Hi Luke,
Thanks for the question.
First, yes, your coach/trainer would need to be registered and certified with USA Boxing as well.
Whe you register with USA Boxing, you will become part of your Local Boxing Committee (LBC) and will have access to information regarding upcoming sanctioned amateur boxing shows in your area, through your LBC president or chief-of-officials.
If you need assistance on how to get registered, let me know, or review the past answered questions on this site under that topic.
Let me know if you need more assistance.

Thanks again for writing, Luke!
Regards,
Lian
