Boxing/Collegiate Boxing Association?

Question
I wish to start a college boxing and muay thai club at my school (University of California: San Diego), but for any martial arts category I will need to registrar with a intercollegiate association. How difficult is this process? and who, what, and where, should I contact for more information?
College boxing is run under the umbrella of the National Collegiate Boxing Assn. (NCBA) and does not participate in USA Boxing amateur events.
