Boxing/Speed Bag Bladder Installation

Question
Hi Alan:
I bought a new bladder for my speedbag, an Everlast 4214. I am having a LOT of trouble pushing that valve stem through that hole in the bottom of the bag. Do you have any helpful tips on how to do it?  This is actually the second new bladder I bought, since I just totally ruined the first one after numerous tries at insertion.

Thanks,

Sandra

Answer
Hi Sandra,

AHHH! those bladders are pesky critters!  The problem sounds like it is more the whole in the bottom of the bag than the size of the valve stem. You might take a round "punch" tool, or a good size nail and stick through the bag hole and stretch it a bit.  You will probably (not sure if you will) put a bit of glue on the bladder base anyway to seat it into the bottom of the bag, And this should hold it OK if the hole gets stretched just a bit too wide. But If you can spread the hole out just a bit it might be easier.

I really hate changing bladders, which is why I always by bags in pairs.  Good luck and I hope this helps.

sincerely,
