Question
i am 35 yrs. old always wanted to fight. never had a male figure to push me. but i feel i want to do this( go pro ).
want do you think i can do to really get in shape, i mean i run 2or3 miles a day, plus eat right i feel like a 21 yr. old man. i believe in me i just need a real good trainer to take me along what do you suggest?

Answer
Roling,

Conditioning is the biggest part of training so running 3 or 4 times a week is essential. I would run about 2 or 3 miles each time. If you are near fighting weight then stick with those numbers but if you need to lose weight you need to add distance. A boxing career usually lasts into the late 30's, longer if you do not get hit a lot and take care of your body. It's something to think about before you dive in. You would have to fight pro because of your age so you would basically be learning how to box as a pro. I would try sparring for a few months at a local gym and seeing how you progress.

good luck,
Jackson
