Question
How can i get involved in boxing if I'm 16 years old and my parents don't have a problem with it? What weight class would be in if I'm 6'3 and 185 pounds? Could you please give me some links or something with information about it? -Thanks

Answer
Hi Jared,
Thanks for the question.
To compete as an amateur, you'll need to register with USA Boxing through your Local Boxing Committee (LBC). For info on how to do that, you can go to www.usaboxing.org, and follow the "Membership" links. Or you can write back to me and let me know your geographic location.
Height is not a factor in determining your weight division, but 185 lbs. is in the heavyweight category.

I hope this helps, Jared!
Thanks again for writing.
Regards, and happy holidays :)
