Question
My husband just got his professional boxing license.  He has trained himself for over 6 months.  He would like to box in a few amateur matches before he fights in a pro match. He doesn't belong to any boxing club.  There is a lack of boxing clubs in our area, northeastern Kansas.  How can he go about lining up some matches as an independent boxer?

Answer
Your husband will need to register as an athlete with USA Boxing in your area (and he can't be older than 34).  He will also need to have a registered and certified coach work his corner.  Please email me at mel@amateurboxing.com, tell me you want to register in Kansas (let me know what city you're in), and I'll send you a contact.
