Question
hello, i had a questions concerning strength training.
i was wondering was how many hours should i put into strength training? is it really needed because? and should i have it everyday or an on and off thing?

Answer
Jesse, Weight training in boxing is a bonus but not a necessity. I would suggest doing it during your down time. I would stop about 2 weeks before your fight. Weight training can make you faster and stronger. Let's say that you fight a guy who is the exact same weight as you. If you are leaner as a result of weight training you will be stronger and likely faster giving you an advantage assuming you can fight to some degree. I would weight train 2 days a week and no more than 3.

good luck,
